Where will my massage or bodywork session take place?
Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.
Must I be completely undressed?
No, since no creams or oils are needed, clients remain fully clothed.
What parts of my body will be worked with?
I work with the areas which you feel the need for attention, but I also follow the kinetic chains throughout the body which can be part of holding the patterns of imbalance.
What will the Ortho-Bionomy session feel like?
Since we work together to determine positions and movements which are more easeful or comfortable, an Ortho-Bionomy session is usually quite relaxing as your system begins to trust the process. You might notice one area of your body responding even when I'm working with a different structure. This is the integrative nature of our systems which work together for the well being of the whole.
What should I do during the Ortho-Bionomy session?
Prior to the massage, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. During the session, make yourself comfortable. It's important to communicate with your practitioner if anything is uncomfortable. we work together to find and support what your system needs to find it's way back to balance.

Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days.

Because of the non forceful and non invasive nature of Ortho-Bionomy, there are far fewer contraindications to worry about. but it is important that your practitioner asks general health questions. It is very important that you inform the practitioner of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage or bodywork prior to any session. Depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required.
